From the Hod to the Bin

"From the hod to the bin" implies a transition, an evolution, in the management of refuse in our society, which will become waste. The hod was the container in which the rag-picker stored the materials they found in the corners of bins, their sphere of action. And the bin is the current container that we hide in our kitchens and garages to fill with our waste.

"The impact of our lifestyle on the environment is not new. Our environmental footprint is increasingly becoming the focus of all our daily challenges and our projects as aspiring designers. We play a role as instigators through the new products we create; we must be aware of their life cycle to design intelligently. This study is a way for me to thoroughly inform myself about the future of the objects I may design later."
