Weigh Anchor

In the digital age, where everyone showcases their real or fake happiness on social media while obscuring their darker sides, "Weigh Anchor" aims to be the ordinary story of an ordinary woman and her ordinary human anxieties. Through the personification of a somewhat sinister specter, she depicts her anxieties, pains, and doubts, not to get rid of them but to talk about them as simply as possible, because these anxieties are common to everyone. This woman could be you, with your worries, doubts, and fears. Because our lives are not made solely of shadows and lights, the story of this graphic novel ends neither well nor badly. It represents humanity in its struggle against its own demons and with its sole will to find not a happiness like the one society tries to sell, but an improvement, a step towards serenity.

Author Biography

Sarah Belmas was born in the 1980s in the Lyon region. Growing up immersed in the adventures of Tintin during her childhood, she learned to doodle and has not stopped drawing since. Having lived in the Bordeaux region for several years, "Weigh Anchor" is her first graphic novel.
